1. The Short Version
We use only what is needed to run the Services and keep your account secure. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or session-replay tools. Basic analytics run only if you choose to allow them.
2. What These Technologies Are
- Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser.
- Local storage and secure storage are places an app or website keeps information on your device, such as your sign-in session or preferences.
The mobile app mainly uses secure device storage (the iOS Keychain and Android Keystore) and ordinary app storage, not browser cookies. Our public web pages (such as the legal pages and takedown forms) may use a small number of strictly necessary items.
3. What We Use
| Type | What it does | Examples | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in, protects your account, remembers your consent choices, prevents abuse (rate limiting) | Sign-in session token (kept in secure device storage), consent version and choice, privacy settings | No. The Services cannot work without them. |
| Preferences and performance | Saves settings and speeds up the app | Notification preferences, cached map images and weather summaries, privacy-shield and biometric-lock settings | You can clear them by signing out or clearing app data. |
| Analytics (only with your consent) | Helps us understand basic app usage, such as app opens | First-party usage events | Yes. Off by default; change it any time in Settings. |
| Advertising | None. We do not use advertising cookies or trackers. | None | Not applicable |
| Session replay | None. We do not record your screen, taps, or typing. | None | Not applicable |
| Bot protection (if enabled) | Helps tell people from automated programs at sign-up and sign-in | Cloudflare Turnstile | Needed to use those screens |
When you sign out, we clear your session, cached member data, notifications scheduled on your device, and temporary photo links.
4. Third Parties
We do not allow third-party advertising or tracking technologies in the Services. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, those companies handle that sign-in under their own privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy for the service providers we use.
5. Your Choices
- Analytics: turn on or off in Settings.
- Notifications and permissions: change them in your device settings.
- Browser cookies: on our web pages, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary items may stop parts of the web pages from working.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: because we do not track you across other sites or sell your information, there is nothing different to switch off.
6. Changes
We may update this notice. If we make material changes we will let you know in the App.
